Gaining deep insights into how both product and service offerings meet local needs, and identifying whether successful ways of reaching out to the market differ, a well-adapted competitive mix can be implemented.
Local insights that change the rules of the game
Anders has also used local market insights to improve the performance of international businesses. One example is when he worked as a sales manager for wardrobes. ”We had a low-priced model without the possibility to sell to more interior designers,” he says. By ordering free-standing wire trays from China, which fitted perfectly in the wardrobes, he created a whole new product line. This initiative not only resulted in increased sales, but also led to a new and updated product line that is still on the market today.
